Uncommon in every way and outstanding in the very least; all while being as handy and safe as they come. Two Tone is a well-rounded mare that has a variety of jobs on her resume. She has been in our program for several years, as she was owned and trained by Codie. Many of the photos you will see were taken throughout the years of owning her. Two Tone was trained and used in the feed yards; she can rope and hold anything you are brave enough to catch. She has been used to pack in a pack string and has also led pack strings through the switchbacks in and out of camp. She is broke to hobble and has been on many overnight camps. Two Tone has been trail ridden through the wide-open country and the mountains. As if that is not an extensive enough resume... She has also been used as a pickup horse in rodeos where she picked up cowboys off of broncs and shagged bulls. She has had the privilege of carrying our nations flag at the rodeo during the national anthem in front of a packed audience. Two Tone has been ridden by cowboys and cowgirls, by riders who are young and old, from the least experienced to the most.
This mare has been a true pleasure to own, and we are excited to see her give the same great experience to someone else. Her disposition is phenomenal, making it incredibly easy to say that she is as pretty on the inside as she is on the outside. One glance at her is all it takes to know that this mare is capable of turning every head! Two Tone hasn't just been trained; she has had years of experience where she has been ridden miles throughout the nation. Though she rides great inside, she has all the experience and confidence to ride outside doing any job or casually trail riding. You can leave her off for months and have no concern about cinching her up and riding off. She is going to give you the same great ride every time with complete consistency. No matter who you put in the saddle, Two Tone is going to take care of them, and go any direction she is pointed. She will side pass across an arena, correctly take her leads on cue while loping pretty circles, has an impressive extended trot, a big stop and a nice turn around for a mare of her size. She has athletic ability that is much more comparable to a quarter horse than a draft horse. She is an easy keeper, loads and hauls well, stands for the farrier, and is easy to catch. Two Tone gets along well whether she is stalled or turned out. She pastures well with other mares or geldings and is not marish whatsoever. She is easy going no matter what you ask of her. Whether she is getting a bath, or riding through the creek, she loves water! She has even raised a baby that was just as good looking as she is, with all of the jaw dropping color. There really isn't anything that this mare is not capable of.
