4 coming 5 year old Draft/Paint cross gelding. Chip is the kind everyone dreams of owning — elegant, kind, and endlessly versatile. He’s the perfect size, with a strong, balanced build that suits a wide range of riders.
Chip has the foundation to go in any direction. Out on the cross-country course, he’s brave, rhythmic, and all business — confidently jumping banks, ditches, and going into the water, even tackling the down bank into the water without hesitation. Brave, brave, brave to the fences. He’s currently schooling 3’ with ease, showing both the heart and scope to go higher. Simply put, he’s a machine on the cross-country field.
In the arena, Chip is an absolute gem. Naturally uphill and soft in the bridle, he’s light, adjustable, and carries his own rhythm beautifully. He’s forward-thinking, with a soft, elastic mouth and an incredibly comfortable way of going. His transitions are smooth, his lead changes are clean, and his movement is balanced, fluid, and eye-catching. Recently, Chip competed at the Florida Horse Park, placing 2nd in the walk-trot cross rails with a 10-year-old rider — under the lights, no less! He didn’t put a foot wrong.
At home, he’s recently become my go-to mount for ponying the big stallions, and even when they test him, he stays kind, respectful, and steady.
Chip would be a phenomenal partner for a Pony Club rider, talented junior, or amateur looking for a fun, athletic, and safe horse to grow with. He’s as versatile as they come — fancy enough for the show ring and brave enough for the hunt field or cross-country course. Chip is also happy to be ridden western and has a great turn on the haunches. To top it off, he’s even been started driving!
Perfect in the stall, outside, alone or with others. No cribbing or weaving.
He loads, ties, cross-ties, and clips like a gentleman. UTD on vaccines, Coggins, wormer, and farrier.
