Meet 💎”Diamond in the Rough”💎 (aka Frankie)! This stunning boy is a 15-year-old, 16.3-hand, TB, gelding. With legs for days, a bright, shiny coat, and his fun personality, he’s hard to miss! Not only is Frankie eye-catching, he’s also loaded with talent and experience. He’s had the same owner for the past six years and has received five-star care. He’s successfully shown in the hunters through 2'6", schooled up to 3' with scope for higher, has an auto lead change, and has also dabbled in dressage and cross-country. Here’s one that could easily do three-day eventing and clean up. Don’t let his age fool you—Frankie has lots of life to give and can't wait for his next adventure!
In the ring, Frankie is a straightforward, educated ride and a fun one at that! He’s slow and easy on the flat—more on the push ride side—but not one you constantly have to push. He has a lovely headset, goes on the bit, and carries himself nicely. He knows leg yields, shoulder-ins, and turns on the haunches. This guy has great balance in both directions and has auto changes both ways; he will even naturally swap after a jump if he’s not on the correct lead. He would shine in a dressage arena and be your next favorite ride!
Over jumps he has his own little motor and has fun doing it! His ears perk forward, and he will jump from anywhere. He has zero stops, run-outs, and no mean or naughty behavior. He’s very controllable, adjustable, and will take care of you if you put him in a bad spot. He has cute form, a good attitude, and a floaty step. He’s comfy to sit to the trot, and his canter is like floating on air. He can be a typical TB and test you with a spook, however, it’s a very rideable spook; it’s always just in place. He’s not one to pull anything dirty or bolt. As long as he has a confident rider to laugh and push him forward, he immediately comes back to you and gets to work. Off property he is a gem; he settles right in and, if possible, even behaves better! It’s like he knows there are people watching him and he likes to show off. It's a blast to take him cross-country—he’s one you can jump around and then walk on a loose rein right after. He has so much talent, and you don’t find ones like him often.
Frankie has been through our desensitization program, and some would argue he was the easiest TB we’ve ever had! He has a curious personality and likes mental stimulation. He plays with the ball, he’s walked through smoke, he is completely tarp-safe (you can even put it over his head, lol)—and the most he might do is taste-test new things. He’s traffic- and equipment-safe and safe to take out on the trail! He likes to go out, he hops right on the trailer and loves seeing new places. He will lead or follow in a group and doesn’t mind if another horse rides too close. He loves his buds and gets along with everyone without being overly attached. He’s a fun horse, ready to go out and do his job—the hard work’s already been done!
In the barn, Frankie has enough personality for three horses. He loves to be groomed and is an in-your-pocket type—so much so he sometimes needs reminded of personal space and not to be too mouthy. This ham is an absolute riot—he’ll share a drink or snack with you and makes all the funny faces! He’s easy to tack up and handle, and he’s well-behaved for the farrier, vet, and dentist. He has been turned out in green pastures and dry lots. He respects a fence, has zero bad stall habits, and is overall a lovely, safe horse to have around.
Frankie has had minor maintenance suitable to his age and has zero limitations! His owner has only decided to move him along due to a lack of time for him—and this guy is too nice to sit on the back burner!
