This perfectly put-together guy is a 5-year-old Shire/QH cross gelding. He stands right around 15.3–16 hands high with a solid build, making him suitable to carry a variety of riders. Not only is Sailor good-looking, he has all the right qualities to match. His temperament is unbeatable! He was born quiet, is easygoing and unflappable, and he LOVES people. This special guy has absolutely stolen our hearts—it’s impossible not to love him! He’s like a big teddy bear and is enjoyable both in the barn and under saddle in every way. Under saddle, Sailor is one of the easiest horses we’ve ever had. He is the same horse whether he’s ridden every day or pulled out once a month. He’s the reliable kind that’s hard to come by, and once you find one, you never want to part with him! This perfect boy is well balanced and has a sensible brain—he’s wise beyond his age. His trot is even, adjustable, and easy to sit. True to his quiet personality, he tends to be more of a push ride and is not one that will run away with you. He is still responsive and will move out when asked. His canter is incredibly smooth, with both leads, easy transitions, and zero funny business. He would make a fun dressage prospect—his balance, ability to adjust himself, and pretty movement get noticed by everyone. He knows how to leg yield, side-pass, and spin! He’s the kind of horse you don’t have to worry about; he can handle mistakes and won’t hold them against you. You’ll finish every ride with a smile on Sailor boy—he’s truly special and is going to make someone very happy.
Sailor keeps his head on his shoulders in every situation, which also makes him an incredible trail partner. He is brave and genuinely enjoys spending time on the trail. He’s happy to mosey along in the back and pack the husband, or he’ll lead the pack cantering through the fields. He’s been on roads, in windy woods, through water and creeks, and out in open fields—he’s seen it all and acts like a 30-year-old pack horse. Bikers, traffic, hikers, flags, dogs, wildlife—he’ll shrug and carry on doing his thing. Sailor has had plenty of saddle time both Western and English, and he looks equally good in both. He’s the type of horse you could ride with your eyes closed and he’ll take care of the rest. We’re pretty confident that any idiot who can climb on can ride him. He’s solid, sweet, and reliable. It’s hard to put into words just how special this boy is!
In the barn, Sailor will greet you every time with ears forward and a sweet expression. He has the softest eye, which truly shows his genuine soul. He’s a people-lover and will stand on the cross-ties all day just to be loved on. He enjoys his people, his snacks, and any attention he can get. He’ll greet you in the pasture and gets along well with everyone for turnout. He’s quiet and well-behaved in his stall, with zero vices, and is an easy keeper. He loads and unloads from the trailer like an old pro and is enjoyable and easy to have around in every aspect. Sailor is a lovely young prospect—safe, stress-free, and a good boy with his whole life ahead of him.
