The first to greet you at the gate, any time of day or night and always eager to be a part of the adventure whether it’s at home or hauling out.
Standing a sturdy 15.3 he has plenty of body to accommodate any size rider and an adaptable mind to calibrate to his passengers youth to adult.
Louie has a very universal education spanning across numerous disciplines offering the unique opportunity to own a jack of all trades kind of horse!
Started as a ranch/rope horse he is no stranger to a hard day’s work and welcomes the prospect of many miles under saddle. Accustomed to an array of ranch chores including yet not limited to; trotting fences, gathering, sorting, stripping, shipping, and doctoring cattle. He is fluent in being saddled early and trotting out on brisk mornings, covering various terrain, encountering wildlife,navigating obstructions, opening and closing gates, and being expected to handle any circumstance with poise. A grand benefit being that this guy is used to being hauled all over (from Montana to Texas) and travels like the seasoned professional he is!
He is an absolute superstar in the roping pen nearly finished on the head side suited for a confident roper to match his stride! Enjoys roping the sled and has zero vices or quirks to work through! Has even loped through the barrels a handful of times and it is no surprise that he shows promise in that as well.
Louie lacks no proper skills in the arena, mind you! He is capable and polished when it comes to loping circles, lead departures, transitions, carriage, and a confident halt. He moves off leg, is reactive to seat and verbal cue, and has a butter-soft mouth.
Last but certainly not least Louie has an alter ego from his cowboy clothes… we have been dabbling in low level eventing and his potential knows no limits!! A true gentleman in English tack and hacks around super soft and willing. Lovely lofty trot and a naturally classy way of going. He shows great interest in jumping and is brave and confident over stadium and xc. Safe for a proficient youth or AA to take on under an instructor.
So easy to catch he nearly halters himself for you, stands tied quietly, great for farrier, big fan of a good bubble bath, and lives for any attention you can give him! Quite like having an overgrown Labrador around with the exception of respectable manners, of course.
