“Too hot to wrap” aka “hotshot” is a 2013 AQHA red roan gelding standing 15 hands tall. He is stout made and ready for anything you want to throw at him! Hotshot is easy to catch, leads, ties, loads and unloads himself, bathes, and stands great for the farrier. He is easy to saddle and handle.
Hotshot has been used on our ranch a ton. From shipping cattle, loading trucks, dragging calves, and roping cattle, he has seen it all. He will go all day if you ask him and never quit on you. Hotshot has a nice one hand neck rein that makes him easy to ride!
On the trails, hotshot is a trail boss! He will cross anything you ask him to, thick brush, huge logs, deep ditches, steep hills, he will do it if you ask him to! He has been hauled all over and travels well while eating and drinking on the road comfortably.
In the arena, hotshot rides amazing! We have headed and heeled on him in the arena and he does amazing. He does not get hot in the box or prancy, comes out nice and soft and rates great! He was started as a pleasure horse when he was 3 then,was used outside. He rides correct, head low, collected and simple. He will walk trot and lope both ways taking his leads each time, drag his butt when asking him to stop, and back up easily. He is accustomed to tarps, flags, pool noodles, anything crazy you want to do with him, he’s up for it.
We recommend an intermediate rider or a beginner rider that knows how to ride for Hotshot, he’s gentle but has been used his whole life and can have a quicker turnaround and walk that may scare a timid beginner rider. We have a 9 and 12 year old that rides hotshot around and they both get along with him just fine. Hotshot does have a small spot in his eye but it does not bother him one bit, he can still see, isnt spooky or weird about that side of him, it’s simply just there.
