If you’re looking for a young, beautiful buckskin with the looks, ability, and versatility to do a little bit of everything, this 5-year-old is one you’ll want to take a look at. He has been used around the ranch for arena riding, trail riding, and everyday ranch work, giving him a solid foundation and plenty of useful experience for his age.
He is very handy broke with a nice one-handed neck rein and a great stop. He has a smooth, comfortable trot and lope, picks up both leads perfectly, and is enjoyable to ride both inside and outside the arena. He is also the same horse even with some time off—you can let him sit, saddle him back up, and pick up right where you left off.
He is a really enjoyable trail horse and has spent plenty of time riding outside. He rides out nicely, is comfortable covering country, and is willing to go wherever you point him. His smooth trot and lope make him comfortable to ride for longer rides, and he is just as enjoyable for a relaxing ride down the trail as he is spending the day riding around the ranch.
He has been exposed to ranch sorting, roping, barrels, and ranch trail and has shown a willingness to learn and progress in each of them. Recently, he has been tracking the roping dummy around and continues to show just how handy and willing he is. With his athletic ability, solid foundation, and willing attitude, he could easily be taken in any of these directions.
On the ground, he is just as enjoyable to have around. He stands quietly to be tacked up and washed, knows how to ground tie, and is easy to handle around the barn.
At only 5 years old, he already has a great foundation with plenty of room to continue advancing. Between his beautiful buckskin color, athletic ability, smooth way of going, one-handed neck rein, great stop, ranch and trail experience, and versatility, he is a really nice young gelding with the potential to go in several different directions while still being a horse you can saddle up and enjoy out on the trails.
