Clark is a sharp-looking 5-year-old bay roan gelding that’s had a real job and knows what a day’s work looks like. Athletic, willing, and quick on his feet, Clark has plenty of try and grit. We’ve owned him for the past two years, and he even made the trip to Arizona with us this past season.
Clark is well broke and rides around the way you’d want one to—he’ll turn around, stop hard, and lope smooth, pretty circles. He has been used extensively outside and is no stranger to long days gathering large pastures, sorting cattle, and dragging calves to the fire.
In the arena, Clark is a started heel horse with a lot of runs under his belt. Our 13-year-old nephew has ridden him for just about everything, from helping clean the arena at ranch rodeos to hauling him to junior rodeos and competing on the heel side.
One of Clark’s best qualities is his combination of gentleness and athleticism. He’s kind, dependable, and easy to be around, yet still has something to him.
Clark is sired by Cats Hillbilly, a stallion owned by Tongue River Ranch for several years. We’ve had a lot of success with Cats Hillbilly offspring, including the 2023 high-selling horse at Rancho Rio Horse Sale. Clark has all the tools to excel, and we believe he has the speed and ability to continue progressing in the roping pen as well.
