We’ve had Charlie in our program since May of 2025, and he has quickly become our go-to mount for guests and riders of all levels down the trail and in the arena. He has been a great confidence builder down the trail—steady, quiet, and happy to head out on any adventure. Traffic, trains, four-wheelers, cattle, strollers, gunfire, flags—you name it, he takes it in stride. Not spooky by nature! He is forgiving of rider mistake, he stands tied patiently, loads and hauls with ease, and settles right in at new places. He is not easily spooked (as seen in the videos) and can really put up with a lot of commotion!
Charlie has been ridden in town, in Parades, through the Sonic drive-thru, at covered arenas, and across all kinds of terrain. He crosses water, steps carefully over logs, navigates bridges and ravines, and goes out alone or in a group without hesitation. Lead, follow, or fall in the middle—Charlie is content wherever you put him. He’ll happily plod along on a loose rein and wants to be low-headed and relaxed. This guy LOVES to trail ride – bring on the adventure!
In the arena, he has a hack-winning trot and rhythmic canter makes him a standout. He’s soft in the bridle, rates/stops off your seat, pivots around, and carries himself in a beautiful frame. Gentle and willing, he has the “ready to work” attitude without ever being hot. He could easily shine as a hunter, ranch rider, or all-around mount for anyone with just a little polishing/ finesse. He is BRAVE over fences and has a lot of try. Find a log out on the trail? No worries, Charlie will pop over it without blinking an eye! He’s also been used to drag logs, carry flags, had guns shot off him, and ponied other horses—always honest and dependable with any task granted to him. Off property he is a trailer to ring/trail type of ride!
Charlie is a joy to be around. He has a goofy, playful side that makes him easy to love, and his sweet temperament speaks for himself. He wants to be very personable and in your pocket. Prior to joining us, he was a trusted family horse, toted around little boys—a true testament to his kind nature. Those boys climbed all over him! He’s excellent to handle, good in a stall, easy to catch (he’ll walk right up and stick his face in the halter), and gets along well in turnout. He has been kept barefoot and shod, currently wearing steel up front. He is Up-to-date on vet work including coggins, vaccines, dental float, and deworming (all available on our website). Excellent manners for the vet/farrier -will stand in the cross ties all day long. This gelding has a stunning slick golden summer coat – truly beautiful! He wears a size 76” blanket in the cold months. He is happy to live outside fulltime, or be in a stall.
