Yellowstone is a seasoned 7-year-old, AQHA registered red roan gelding standing at 15 hands from the reputable Harrington-Hirshey Quarter Horses.
He is a family ranch, rodeo and lesson horse that is experienced and reliable. We’ve trusted him with the greenest of riders as he's been a lesson horse at Treasure Valley Community College for students learning to ride and rope. He is able to fill in for green riders. He is easy to catch, gets along with other horses but is happy to leave the barn and walks out leading the way. He is good to shoe and patience with less-experienced horseman bridling and saddling him.
Last summer he was our 10-year-old son's go-to mount for pasture doctoring yearlings. He is sure footed, level headed and cowy. He has the temperament to handle jobs of all sizes. Our whole family has used him, whether it was on the ranch to gather, trail, pasture doctor, sort, brand, or team rope in the arena. He is awesome to use ranching as he has the motor and heart to handle big days- he will not quit you and you won't have to peddle him!
He has a solid foundation in the arena he has been used to compete on in heading and heeling and is ready to go to the next level. We've started him in breakaway and he would also make a great calf horse. Has been used to rope horses and has been one of Wade's go-to for picking up bucking horses. He had his debut this summer as a goat horse for a very green rider at rodeo Bible camp! He has also been used on the stock horse team at TVCC.
