My name is Anna Majewska-Górska, and together with my husband, we run a reputable Hucul Horse Breeding Farm in southeastern Poland, specifically in the mountainous region of Podkarpacie, where the challenging terrain and harsh climate have been shaping this hardy breed — the Hucul horse — for centuries. We have been breeding Hucul horses for over 10 years. Our first Hucul mare arrived at our farm in 2013 and is still with us today — she will turn 22 this March. We strive to provide our horses with conditions as close to natural as possible. They live in a herd system (the herd consists of a stallion, broodmares, and foals) on several hectares of hilly land surrounding our home.
However, the horses are not wild! All adult mares are trained under saddle, and some of them also work in harness. Our mares and young horses regularly participate in both national and international breeding shows, achieving excellent results. From time to time, they also take part in competitions dedicated to this breed, known as the Hucul Trail – a combination of show jumping and TREC-type challenges, testing the horse’s bravery and willingness to cooperate with humans. All our adult horses are registered in the Polish Main Studbook for Hucul Horses, have lifetime breeding licenses, and are included in the EU Genetic Resources Conservation Program. Our breeding farm is also a member of the Hucul International Federation (HIF). What distinguishes our Hucul horse breeding program is our focus on: breeding taller horses (140 cm and up), and promoting the tobiano coat color, which is rare among Hucul horses worldwide.

TRANSPORT:
Our horses easily load into a horse trailer or truck.

Foals up to one year old are transported loose (as in a stable box, without being tied). Older horses are transported tied, allowing for shared transportation, which helps reduce costs. MANAGEMENT:
The mare currently lives in a large herd in a pasture-based system. She also adapts well to classic stable housing.
HERD POSITION:
She holds a low position in the herd and is conflict-free toward other horses. She may occasionally be chased away by others during feeding.
TEMPERAMENT:
She has a very balanced nature. She is safe during grooming, farrier, and veterinary procedures. She is very docile toward humans and other horses. Separation from the herd is not a problem for her.
TRAINING LEVEL:
She is safe to lead on a halter (can be walked like a dog).
Though she works under saddle only occasionally, she can go on trail rides alone or in a group - leading or following. She has a long walk and a long, comfortable trot. She hasn’t been trained in jumping, but naturally handles trail obstacles like fallen trees in the forest. She is experienced mostly in riding through meadows and forests.
She is not afraid of traffic.
SUITABLE FOR:
A good choice for a child, teenager, or adult. Due to her patience and calm demeanor, she should perform well in a riding school.

HOUSING CONDITIONS:
The mare currently lives in a large herd in an open-stable system, but she also knows and enjoys living in a stall.
HERD POSITION:
She holds a low position in the herd and is non-confrontational towards other horses.
CHARACTER:
Very balanced temperament. Safe and calm during grooming.
TRAINING LEVEL:
Safe to lead on a halter.
Ridden both in a bridle with a bit and bitless bridle. She rides out alone or in a group, can lead or follow. Mostly ridden in meadows and forests, very brave. Not trained in jumping, but easily crosses natural obstacles like fallen trees or ditches. Has a long walk and a very long, comfortable trot. She can trot as fast as other horses gallop. Her trot is smooth both at slow and fast paces. Canter is heavy with a long stride.

Drives in pair and single harness, suitable for teaching other horses to drive.
Not afraid of traffic.
Has had a break from saddle and carriage work since February 2023 due to being used for breeding; since then worked occasionally only.

She has foaled twice. Excellent mother - nurses not only her own but also other foals, which affects her physical condition during lactation. Currently in foal, due date: July 2025 (+/- 1 month). She can move to a new home in three options:

FAMILY:
Born in my breeding program. I own her dam and brother. I have photos of her siblings and offspring.

HOUSING CONDITIONS:
The mare currently lives in a herd under open-stable (paddock paradise) conditions, but she can also live in a stable box. She has no issues with being isolated from other horses.
HERD POSITION:
She is in the middle of the herd hierarchy and gets along well with all horses.
TEMPERAMENT:
The mare has a submissive and gentle character. She gets along equally well with calm, low-energy people and with more energetic or nervous individuals. She remains calm during grooming and handling.
LEVEL OF TRAINING:
The mare goes on walks in hand with a halter and is safe to lead.
She is ridden both by adults and children. She can go first or last in a group and is also confident riding out alone. She is mainly used for trail riding and easily overcomes natural obstacles such as fallen trees. However, she has no experience in show jumping.
She has a very spacious walk and a long, comfortable trot.
She has been trained to work in harness, both in pairs and individually. She is used to help train young horses for driving.
She is not afraid of traffic.
SUITABLE FOR:
She would make an excellent family horse – suitable for children, teenagers, and adults.

BREEDING:
The mare holds a Breeding License and is registered in the Polish Studbook for Hucul Horses under the Hucul International Federation (HIF). She is also included in the EU Genetic Resources Conservation Program.
She is homozygous for tobiano, which guarantees 100% tobiano foals, and heterozygous for the DUN gene, which means at least 50% of her foals will be DUN, RED DUN, or GRULLO (BLACK DUN). She currently has a foal born in March 2025 – a bay tobiano colt, expected to reach approximately 145 cm at maturity.
The mare can leave for a new home in three options:
1. After weaning the foal – in August this year
2. Rebred to a stallion, and sold confirmed in foal (price to be agreed individually)
FAMILY BACKGROUND:
The mare was born in our breeding program. Her sire can be seen on site. Her dam passed away at the age of 27. She has had 5 foals so far, all deliveries were without complications. She is an excellent mother and produces a large quantity of milk during lactation, which causes some weight loss during that period. Photos of her grown offspring are available.
One of her sons is already licensed for breeding, and another will undergo breeding qualification in the fall of this year. She strongly passes on traits from the sire to her foals.
HEALTH:
The mare has limited vision in her right eye.

MANAGEMENT:

HERD POSITION: 
She is non-confrontational with other horses.
CHARACTER: 
Ozdoba-Gór has a balanced temperament. She enjoys human contact and affection. She is tolerant of noisy children (I have a 1.5-year-old daughter) and shows interest in them. She initiates contact and is very gentle. She is a sociable horse and not stubborn.
TRAINING STAGE: 
Walks alone on a halter.
Trained for breeding shows: walks on a loose lead at walk and trot, backs up with a handler, and stands in a show pose.
Works on the ground using pressure methods and occasionally R+.
Underwent initial saddle training: familiar with saddle pad and saddle. Occasionally carries my 1.5-year-old daughter bareback. I have also leaned on her and sat on her playfully. Starting under saddle should be straightforward.
Not afraid of traffic.
SUITABLE FOR: 
Suitable for everyone :) She would make a great family horse, a first horse for a young person, and due to her courage and comfortable gait, an excellent companion for solitary forest rides. With proper training, she could also participate in small competitions. Given her promising show potential, correct movement, and people-friendly nature, she should excel in Hucul competitions.

HOUSING CONDITIONS:
Currently kept in an open-stable system, but can live in a stall and is comfortable staying in the stable alone.
HERD POSITION:
She holds a middle position in the herd, respects dominant horses and avoids conflict, but likes to chase off lower-ranking ones with a stern look or a nip.
CHARACTER:
She prefers calm, low-energy people. Highly energetic, loud, and emotionally unstable individuals may cause her stress. She is very sensitive to human signals and body language.
TRAINING LEVEL:
The mare has done a lot of groundwork on the line using R+ methods. This method proved to be the most effective during her training, as she reacts with stress to excessive pressure.
She began under-saddle work at the age of 5. The mare is energetic but has no problem moving at a slow pace, provided the rider remains calm. She can go out on trail rides both alone and in a group. The mare has a long, energetic stride, which makes her very comfortable under saddle. Additionally, she has very good jumping technique and moves with a spring-like elasticity.
She is sensitive to rein cues and prefers to be guided by the rider’s seat and breathing. The mare worked under saddle from March to June 2023. Since then, she has been used for breeding and has not been ridden. In summary, she has only undergone basic under-saddle training and may require a gradual reintroduction to work.

The mare is not afraid of traffic.

A sensitive but confident teenage girl or adult woman. Due to her size, also suitable for a gentle, experienced man. Not suitable for children or beginners due to limited training under saddle.

Licensed for breeding, listed in the Polish Hucul Horse Studbook under Hucul International Federation (HIF), and part of the EU Genetic Resource Protection Program.
Achievements:
2023: Reserve Champion of Young Mares during the Hucul Performance Test.
In June 2024, she gave birth to a beautiful colt with a lovely temperament (photos/videos available privately). Birth was without complications, and she is a caring mother.
