Once In A Lifetime, Eventing Prospect!

Calling all eventers… This is your prospect!

Meet Rose, a 6yr 14:2hh Mustang! Rose is fully titled - no application needed - and looking for her person. She is very sweet and friendly and has no health problems. Rose is green trained and has walked/trotted under saddle but not yet cantered. For this reason, she would do best with an intermediate/advanced rider who can finish her training. She is a natural jumper and naturally collects herself.

Rose is light on the bit and will move off of leg pressure to an extent. She could really excel in eventing, and so that is where I’d like to see her go. She is careful about knocking poles and has jumped 3.5ft with room to go higher! I should also mention that she jumped this with minimal jump training! Rose has been ridden western, english, and bareback and been on a few trail rides so far (with an experienced buddy) where she has crossed water and logs.

Rose is easy to catch and stands tied. She picks up all 4 feet, though she is still working on it and can move around a bit. I have been able to trim all 4 of her hooves with the help of a friend giving her scratches to distract her. She is a great balance of whoa and go! She’s not lazy by any means, nor is she hot. She will get a little more forward on trails but it’s not unmanageable.

Pros:
⭐Friendly! Easy to catch, and very curious!
⭐No health issues!
⭐Super jumper and mover! Careful with her feet!
⭐Ridden western, english and bareback!
⭐Super smart. Picks up on new ideas fast!
⭐Wonderful balance of whoa and go.

Cons (her only one):
⭐She is buddy sour. It is not unmanageable, but she has a hard time standing still and is very distracted when the herd moves away. I have worked on it a little bit and she’s gotten better. I think if someone worked on it a little more, it would go away. In the meantime, if you spend 5-10min keeping her feet moving (circles, lunging, roundpenning, whatever) she calms down and puts her attention back on you. I have not tried taking her on the trails alone, but have ridden her in the arena and round pen by herself.

Please Note:

⭐In the video, she is being ridden by a beginner/intermediate. This was also the first time she had been ridden in about 2 weeks. She did well, though she was definitely not as soft as she is normally. She is ridden in a western saddle since my english one doesn’t fit her very well. She has been ridden in an english saddle in the past and doesn’t mind it.

⭐She has had all 4 hooves trimmed since taking the pictures.

⭐She has an old scar on the neck, and a newer one above her eye. Both are pictured and neither one bothers her at all.

Rose is a sweet mare, with tons of potential. With the right person, she could easily turn into a 20-30k horse. I have worked hard to keep her curiosity and not shut her down. The right match for her is someone with experience eventing who can finish her training, but who is also kind and patient. I will be picky about her home.
