Judging by his type, movements and pedigree, Wonderboy could live up to his name in the future. His sire, Kasanova de la Pomme, was honoured in 2013 as champion of the BWP stallion selection and later crowned as BWP elite stallion. The 12-year-old Kasanova is completing a particularly successful course in top showjumping. This year he became winner in the 5* Nations Cup in Hickstead, 5th in the 5* Nations Cup in Falsterbo, 7th in the 5* Sankt-Gallen GP and 7th in the 5* Valkenswaard GP. Meanwhile, several of his descendants from his first crop (2014) are already performing at 1m45 to 1m50 level.
Lupiene, Wonderboy’s dam, is a direct daughter of BWP ambassador Quasimodo van de Molendreef. Her dam, Trampoliene, jumped at 1m40 level and produced the international showjumper Fifty Fifty (by Zirocco-Blue), with whom Vincent Geerink competes at 1m50 level. Several other performers belong to this Dutch breeding family, including the international GP showjumpers Halina (alias Hollywood, Wil Schellekens) and Iliadiene (alias Eurocommerce Lima, Gerco Schröder). Iliadiene is by the way the great-granddam of Lupiene. Good blood never lies.
Wonderboy is a foal with a very strong trot and a canter with a lot of equilibrium. The foal has spacious movements and can switch well.
