Manche Pferde sind schön, manche sind nützlich – und manchmal findet man ein Pferd, das beides vereint. Belle ist eine wunderschöne 4-jährige Haflinger/Quarter Horse-Stute, 14 Hand groß und ca. 500 kg schwer. Obwohl sie nur 14 Hand misst, täuscht die Höhe – dieses Pferd hat alle Kurven, Knochen und Statur, die man von diesem Mix erwartet, verpackt in ein äußerst auffälliges Äußeres. Von ihrer zarten rosa Nase bis zu ihrem schönen, gefleckten Fell und ihrer großen, eleganten Figur – Belle ist die Art, die überall auffällt. Aber sie ist viel mehr als nur ein hübscher Anblick.
Ihr Fundament wurde fachmännisch gelegt, sie stammt von einem Amish-Betrieb im Nordosten und das sieht man. Sie ist braves, sensibles, vernünftiges Pferd mit klugem Kopf. Sie bewegt sich mit sehr angenehmen Gängen, darunter ein laufender Schritt, ein Sattelschritt und ein hoch getragener Trab, der butterweich ist. Some horses are pretty, some are useful, and every once in a while you find one that gives you a little bit of both. Belle is a gorgeous 4-year-old Haflinger/Quarter Horse cross mare standing 14 hands and weighing approximately 1,100 pounds. She may only be 14 hands, but don’t let the height fool you—this girl has all the curves, bone, and stoutness you’d expect from this cross, wrapped up in one seriously eye-catching package. From her soft pink nose to her beautiful dappled coat and big, shapely figure, Belle is the kind that gets noticed everywhere she goes. But she’s far more than something pretty to look at.
Belle’s foundation was put on the right way, coming from an Amish farm in the Northeast, and it shows. She is broke, gentle, sensible, and has a good mind. She travels with some incredibly comfortable gears, including a running walk, saddle gait, and a high trot that is smooth as butter. She can cover country all day long without beating you up doing it.
If you’re looking for a trail horse deluxe, Belle needs to be on your short list. She’ll ride out alone or happily travel with a group and doesn’t need another horse for confidence.
Belle has enough foundation and natural ability that someone could take her in several directions. Keep her as an exceptional trail and pleasure horse, finish her into a Western or English discipline, or hitch her—and don’t overlook that last option. With her Amish upbringing, stout build, movement, and looks, we think Belle would make an absolutely gorgeous driving horse.
Belle is uncomplicated to have around the barn as well. She is comfortable being stalled or turned out, easy to catch, ties, loads, bathes, and is no fuss for the farrier. She is an easy keeper who maintains that girlish figure on hay and alfalfa, has no soundness issues, and requires no special maintenance. Her biggest maintenance requirement may just be a weekly spa day to keep up with her girlie needs—and with a face like hers, we think she’s earned it.
She’s gentle, gorgeous, stout, smooth, and just different enough to make people stop and look. At four years old, the hard part has already been done right—the fun part is deciding where you’ll take her next. Belle has a lifetime of riding ahead of her, and we think she’s going to look awfully good spending it with somebody who appreciates just how special she is.
