Taxi is a 4 yr old palomino roan half Gypsy Vanner X Quarter Horse. He stands 14.1 hands tall and as wide as he is tall! Taxi has all the bone and foot you could ask for! He is one of those horses that can be used inside the arena or out and is the perfect size to do any discipline for an adult or an intermediate kid. Taxi was raised and trained by a friend of ours where he was started correctly. He has all the fancy buttons, wants to have a sliding stop, he has correct turn arounds, and you can move hips and shoulder. He has mostly been rode by my 10 yr old daughter since we have owned him. He has been hauled extensively to town, team ropings, and rodeos. So ropes swinging and loud speaker systems don’t bother him a bit! Taxi is a pleasure to ride and has all the outside experience as well, trail riding thru brush and thickets, crossing creeks, dragging logs, riding down the road with traffic, hog hunting, and working cows. I would say he needs an intermediate rider though outside in the woods just because he will sometimes jump the creeks. But as far as riding gentle inside the arena and outside of the arena he is great. He will lead or follow in the pack on a loose rein. Taxi is fun to ride and has very smooth and flowing gaits. He will Walk/Trot/Lope good circles, catches both leads, and stays between your feet and hands. He will even side pass and open/close gates. He is VERY athletic and could make a top performance horse! Taxi gets along with everything in the pasture. He is in the middle of the pecking order. He doesn’t let anyone pick on him but also won’t pick at anyone else. He leads, loads, stands tied quietly, bathes, grooms, and stands to be saddled/bridled. He has excellent ground manners and a fun-loving personality that just goes with the flow and takes everything in stride. He can be stalled or turned out on grass. Taxi is traffic safe and machinery safe. He’s good with dogs, kids, and even Segways moving around him. He is gentle and loves people, he wants to be with you every second of the day! Easy to catch in a pasture, stalls good, and drinks/eats on the road. Taxi has been my 10 yr olds go to for everything! She has been starting him on the barrels, poles, goat tying, and breakaway! He is the same horse every time you step him out of the pasture, he has ZERO buck, even with time off. He is young enough to last and seasoned enough to enjoy! Taxi is easy to keep, we don’t have any special regimen for him. He is UTD on farrier, dewormer, and vaccinations. He is 100% sound and stays barefoot.
