Simba makes you breathe easy the second you swing a leg over. This 2019 AQHA gelding is easy on the eyes and even easier to ride—no surprise, considering he’s by Showdown In Command and out of a Fortys Last Chance mare. He’s built the right way, with all the bone, shape, and sense you’d expect from a foundation-bred program. The kind you’ll still be bragging about ten years from now. Whether you’re saddling up to hit the trails, headed out for ranch chores, or just need to clear your head after a long day, Simba makes it feel like you’ve got the best seat in the house. Most mornings, we don’t even have to catch him the old-fashioned way. We just head out in the golf cart, and he falls in line like he’s part of the crew, trailing behind all the way to the barn like he’s got a timecard to punch. You don’t have to be a hand to enjoy him—just ask our mailman. One afternoon he mentioned he used to ride when he was younger, so I said, “Well shoot, I’ve got just the horse for you.” He laughed and said it’d been 15 years. I said “Perfect.” We threw a saddle on Simba, gave him a leg up, and off they went like old friends. Simba carried him through the pasture, stepped over a few logs, and walked right past the flag I forgot was hanging off the fence. Never thought twice about it. Dave waved as he rode back in like he was in a movie. I halfway expected him to quit the post office and go buy a new hat and boots that same day. That’s just who Simba is, he makes everyone feel like they know what they’re doing! No buck & no funny business. He’s been roped on, used in the feedlot, and put through real work, but he’s also been the kind to take on a long trail ride just for the joy of it. Simba has covered some serious ground—he’s been ridden in the Colorado mountains, the wooded trails of Missouri, the hills of central Texas, and the feedlots of Amarillo. He’s worked in all kinds of country and still meets you at the gate like he’s glad to see you. And honestly, he is. Simba is solid outside and isn’t worried about wildlife, dogs, traffic, or the harsh terrain in front of him. Crosses creeks, bridges, and logs. He’s confident alone, content in a group, and doesn’t care if he’s leading, following, or riding drag. Point him where you want to go, and he’ll get you there with a steady step and a happy mindset. He’s been through trail obstacle challenges, and it shows—he’s careful, confident, and willing to do whatever you put in front of him. Simba is simple and easy to operate. He neck reins, picks up both leads, and transitions smoothly. The kind of horse anyone can get along with, whether you're a first-timer, a seasoned hand, or just want something trustworthy for the whole family. He has a fantastic neck rein, easy turn around and is overall very soft. Works great off your rein or your leg. Will side pass up to any gate to open or close it. On the ground, he’s all class. Simba has excellent stall and trailer manners, stands tied, saddles quietly, is fantastic for the farrier and walks right up to meet you in the pasture. He’s kind to other horses and even kinder to people. Kids can pet on him, crawl under him, and help tack him up without worry. His personality is warm and kind, he loves any and all attention you have to offer. He’ll stand for mounting, dismounting, baths, brushing, and whatever else. He stands at a perfect 15 hands and is completely sound and healthy. UTD on all care, records are available. If you’ve been holding out for one that’s honest, uncomplicated, and just plain easy to ride—Simba’s your guy. The kind that makes you look forward to saddling up and wish every horse came with his brain. We’re located in Amarillo, Texas, and happy to board him until you can arrange shipping & we’re also glad to help line that up. We’ve been at this long enough to know how hard it is to find one like Simba, and if you think he might be the one, holler at us. We’d love to visit and we’ve got plenty more stories where the mailman came from. Contact Cheyenne @ 480-907-8516 with any inquiries!
